Kimbra | "Goldmine" video

"Goldmine" was one of the weaker, more repetitive tracks on Kimbra's 2014 The Golden Echo, but there's nothing that a labor-intensive music video cannot at least partially redeem. The Kiwi songstress and her filmmaker collaborators apparently used 400 square yards of golden aluminum foil while shooting at a factory in Berlin. The animation is pure stop-motion, and there is indeed something mezmerizing about watching a shimmering stream of gold gush out of a faucet or a writhing pillar of it pour out of the face of Kimbra's hoodie.
