David Gungor and Michael Arndt of The Brilliance just released a surprise EP called See the Love, and it's not a moment too soon. At the end of a year full of unrest, hatred, and brutality the world over, the record is meant as a balm and a lament both for those affected by violence and war as well as for our own callous hearts - "a hopeful protest album", as Gungor writes on the band's website.
The band has made "See the Love" available to hear on YouTube, and it's terrific. Featuring auncharacteristically strummy acoustic guitar and lovely backing vocals, it's an anthem of hope for forgiveness and empathy at a time when it's in awfully short supply. Listen below.
