It's been almost two and a half years since Vancouver-based Jordan Klassen shared his debut full-length Repentance, but he's finally gearing up for his follow-up which, judging from this first track, sounds fabulous as well as practically unrecognizable. It's surprising to learn that while Klassen has featured other musicians in the past, he's flying solo on this record by producing and playing nearly every instrument himself. The sound here is somehow fuller than it's ever been before. "Baby Moses" manages to strip the artist's earnest folk back to its foundations, and build a captivating pop song with zither-like tones and a psych-flavored guitar solo on top. Check it out below, and keep an eye out for Javelin, which is due in February.
